Members of The Pack: Tina M.

I had lost my husband a year and a half before walking into the gym. Before he got sick I had dropped a substantial amount of weight and was doing a boot camp 3 times a week. And then my life forever changed.

The love of my life was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He lived a life of hell for 1 yr. I stayed home with him for the last 3 months. 40 pounds came back in what seemed like overnight. I didn’t do any workouts except to drive to work, Dr. appts. and hospital visits.

After his passing, the grief took over, I just couldn’t wrap my head around doing the things I did when he was alive. In other words, I felt guilty about living when he was not. I can remember the first time walking into the gym and seeing Jerry standing behind the counter. Believe it or not, he was very shy. After I told him some of my story he explained what he could offer me, personal training and classes, and I decided to try it.

I have never looked back. Jerry (Thriveology) gave me “me” back. I hated going home alone so I was at the gym a LOT. The personal interest he took in my health made me feel alive again. I asked a lot of questions, and he gave me the answers I needed.

And then there was Treves & Sharon…they are a wealth of information. They were/are always encouraging, understanding and ready to help each of us through our individual journey to reach our goal, whether it be to lose weight, inches, or build our self-confidence. I have made life long friends, shared lots of stories and broke bread with my Pack Family. I am forever grateful for the relationships I have with Jerry and our Pack. Thank you…Thank you…Thank you for giving me my life back!!!!

The conversation started when she mentioned that she was on “Spring Break” this week (she’s a senior in high school). Now, I put

The Running Fallacy: Why Running Isn’t Suitable for Most People

Yes, I know I’m going to get dinged for this article. After all, there are many avid runners out there, and many more people who aren’t avid runners, but pretend to be because they think it’s necessary. My goal today is to bring clarity to a topic that isn’t being discussed in the fitness world,
